Public bodies and the Archives Act
The retention rules applicable to documents held by public bodies were overhauled in 2022. We offer a service to upgrade your retention schedule, in compliance with the new rules in force and with section 7 of the Archives Act, which stipulates that every public body must establish and keep up to date a retention schedule.
Section 8 of the Archives Act also provides that every public body must submit its retention schedule and every modification of it to Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) for approval.
